Intimate and Lowkey George and Madcap Lounge Wedding

Let’s talk about this venue—chef's kiss. The George and Madcap Lounge is unlike any Wisconsin wedding venue I’ve been able to photograph. If you're into eclectic design and a strong colorful vibe, this place is it. Even though they recently opened up in 2021, they’ve made some big changes for 2026! This venue’s lounge is filled with so many trinkets and a library room, a super cozy bar area, plenty of couches, and even a pool table! Let’s just say I had a field day finding all the perfect little nooks and crannies to capture Liz and Zach’s love story. There were so many unique spaces that gave us opportunities to create something truly special.

As a Milwaukee wedding photographer, getting to shoot a wedding at The George has been a dream of mine! Liz & Zach truly blew me away with their intentions and visions for their wedding day and getting to photograph it was such an honor. We started off the afternoon with some quick getting ready moments with Liz in The George’s super charming bridal suite, then had the cutest first look with L & Z.

After their ceremony, Liz & Zach opted out of doing a traditional sit down dinner! Instead, they wanted to keep things low key by having all their friends and family hang out in the Madcap Lounge of The George and it was such a treat to witness as a film wedding photographer. It almost felt like I was at a luxurious and exclusive restaurant documenting intimate moments between people, but to make it even better it just so happened to be a little wedding!

Drinks flowed, appetizers were devoured, and conversations were shared throughout the night. The evening wrapped up perfectly with Liz and Zach dancing the night away with their friends and families. This day was everything and more. Liz and Zach did exactly what they wanted for their wedding day and it’s clear the heart behind their day will be the reason these photos stand the test of time.
