Cozy In Home Photo Shoot on Film

Homes are some of the most powerful and authentic expressions of people. We spend so much of our lives there, wherever those homes are. Getting to see Allison + Pete in their new, cozy home was so so special.

In home photo shoots are such a special kind of shoot — being let into a couples home, photographing them in some of their most sacred spaces is something I don’t take lightly! It requires so much trust to let an ‘almost’ stranger come in. Comfort & connection are at the heart of what I believe in as a photographer and I like to ease into in home photo shoots with that in mind! Allison and Pete welcomed me in with open arms and we got to yap all about their love and the first time they met, the music they love, and got to bop around special corners of their home with their pup, Dottie.

In home photo shoots give off such a unique feeling. I love to think about looking at these photos 20 years from now and all the feelings they’ll bring; standing by the front door of your first home together, rolling around in the grass where your future kids might be playing in, the dog you two owned when you got engaged, listening to music in your living room together!

I’m such a sappy, sentimental person, and like to go into couples photo shoots like I’m unraveling a romance movie scene. I love photographing the cheeky little glaces that turn into an outburst of laughter, the tiny hand holds, the slow moments of affection (no matter what that looks like - everyone loves in different ways!), how colorful and lively things looked at that time- EEEK I’m such a sap!!

Being able to see a couple and how they are and interact in such a deeply, sacred space is such an honor to capture. I never take these in home photo shoots for granted and I hope you enjoy a peek into Allison + Pete’s lives ♡
