Unique Wisconsin Wedding Venues
Updated on March 6th, 2026
Being a Wisconsin wedding photographer while also being in the process of planning my 2026 wedding, I feel like I have some extra eyes on great spots in Wisconsin to get married at! If you’re in the beginning process of trying to find a lovely venue for you and your fiance, you’re in the right place. I have 15 unique wedding venues in Wisconsin that range from European inspired villas to lake side gems to intimate outdoor gardens; there’s truly a spot in here for everyone looking to get married in Wisconsin!
1. Mineral Point Historical Society
We’re going to start off with a few venues that are more advertised as ‘historical societies’ in Wisconsin, but will allow you to host your wedding. First up we have the Mineral Point Historical Society in Mineral Point which is about an hour south west of Madison! While their website and photos might be a bit dated, I can envision such a romantic & elevated feeling wedding here! This is an 1868 Italianate mansion with tons of gorgeous trees and an open lawn, with a gorgeous indoor space. For what you could pull together here, the Mineral Point Historical Society is seriously such a steal!
Guest Capacity — 200
Rate — $1,900 for 2 hours for rehearsal on Thursday/Friday and up to 14 hours on-site for day of ceremony & reception
2. Wauwatosa Historical Society
Next up on my list is a place I had the opportunity to tour and have to say, photos don’t do this home justice. The Kneeland-Walker House (aka Wauwatosa Historical Society) is located in Wauwatosa which is about 15 minutes west of Milwaukee! It almost reminds me of the venue I mentioned above, except the backyard space is a bit cozier. The backyard is filled with tons of colorful summer flowers and has a super romantic & vintage feeling indoor space with lots of wood, reds, and a grand staircase. With both indoor and outdoor spaces, the Kneeland-Walker House couldn’t be more perfect for couples looking to host a wedding that’s extremely affordable while still remaining very intimate & endearing!
Guest Capacity — 60 outside / 40 inside
Rate — $225/hour for the rental of the grounds and first floor of the home
3. The Commodore
We’ll take a little detour and check out some more sophisticated, elegant and charming venues within Wisconsin that might have gone under your radar! First up we have The Commodore that’s located in Hartland right on Lake Nagawicka. With this venue being one of the newest on my lists, there weren’t many real weddings I could find, however they do have multiple different spaces you could hold your wedding! A handful of different lounges for more intimate days up to 30 people, or even an outdoor pavilion or ballroom for up to 300 people.
Guest Capacity — 32 to 300
Rate — $3,250 Room Rental/$14,000 Food & Beverage Minimum / click here for pricing guide
4. The Paine Arts Center & Gardens
Up next is a venue that I almost couldn’t believe was in Oshkosh, let alone Wisconsin! The Paine Art Center and Gardens is a European-style mansion and botanical garden located in Oshkosh, a little over an hour drive from Milwaukee. It’s such a stunning location to have as your wedding venue if you’re envisioning a place that’s European inspired; they have a Carriage House, an English-Inspired Mansion, botanical gardens, or a conservatory that are all possible locations on their property to hold your celebration. This one’s for the architectural & botanical garden lovers for sure!
Guest Capacity — 100 to 150
Rate — $6,000 for 6 hours / $7,000 for 9 hours
5. Villa Bellezza
In a small town called Pepin, there’s another romantic Italian-inspired wedding venue called The Villa Bellezza; just about 4 1/2 hours northwest of Milwaukee! There are so many gorgeous spots around the villa for photos with you & your partner and friends & families, with one of my favorites being in the Vineyard Lawn! There’s also a few different options to choose from on where you’d like to have your ceremony, dinner, and reception which I think is a big plus if you’re looking for something unique.
Guest Capacity — 40 to 300+
Rate — $10,900 for Great Hall / $2,200 Vineyard Pavillion / click here for pricing guide (as of 2026)
6. Anderson Arts Center
Who knew Kenosha had such a lovely French Renaissance Revival style mansion?! Not me! While the Anderson Arts Center functions as an indoor art museum, the grounds of this location are so stunning, it didn’t even feel like I was in Kenosha! The photos featured here are from a wedding I recently shot in June of 2025 and was so blown away; it’s a gorgeous lakeside mansion with the perfect view of Lake Michigan, an intimate patio, and enough space to put up a tent for a night time reception.
Guest Capacity — 300
Rate — Unknown/Inquire with Venue
7. The California Clipper
If you’re someone who loves kitschy dive bars, lots of red, and feeling like you’re in Twin Peaks, The California Clipper is the place. Although this venue is located in Chicago, I wanted to include a place that is easily doable for a Wisconsin couple while still remaining unique and not a traditional wedding venue! I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding here in October of 2025 and it definitely transformed how I view weddings; you can quite literally do anything for your wedding day! It has iconic red leather booths, vintage red light fixtures, a dancing room, and a stage where you can hold your ceremony. Could not recommend this place enough!
Guest Capacity — Up to 150
Rate — Different per event
8. Falcon Bowl
If you’re someone who wants to keep things more lowkey while also giving your guests a fun experience, Falcon Bowl needs to be on your radar! Falcon Bowl has some pretty rich history with it first being built in 1915 and is now one of the oldest bowling alleys in the U.S.! The venue has been recently renovated with an event hall, a 6 lane bowling alley, and this super art-deco stage that would be so perfect to hold your ceremony on or even a live band during dancing! This wedding venue almost gives off “high school prom” aesthetics in the best way; I’m so excited to photograph a wedding here soon!
Guest Capacity — Up to 200
Rate — starts at $3,000 with tons of add ons / click here for pricing guide (as of January 2026)
9. Sanger House Gardens
If you’re more of an outdoor lover, the last seven venue choices I have listed will be a treat. Up first is one that we actually considered for our wedding venue, the Sanger House Gardens! I had the opportunity to shoot one of my favorite weddings here in 2024 (read about it here & see more of the space!) and will always mention it as one of Milwaukee’s most hidden gem wedding venues. While the website is a bit dated, I promise the property speaks for itself while visiting the gardens. It truly has so many colorful florals throughout the grounds, a gorgeous Italianate home where you can get ready with your wedding party, as well as an extra carriage house where your caterers can prepare your dinner & also another getting ready spot!
Guest Capacity — Up to 65
Rate — $7,150 for 8 hours
10. Hotel Washington
This was another wedding venue that we had on our list for possible venues for our wedding day! If farm-to-table food & cozy hosting is an important part of your day, Hotel Washington is the place you’re looking for! Located on a island near Door County called Washington Island, Hotel Washington is such a dream of a wedding venue. Their catering is done by their farm to table restaurant & bakery, your guests will take a ferry over to the island and everyone can treat it as a mini vacation while celebrating your love!
Guest Capacity — 50 indoors/100+ outdoors
Rate — $15,825 for venue fee and all food & drinks (for 35 guests)
11. Selmer and Stone
The newest venue on my list (their first weddings are in the spring of 2025!), we have Selmer and Stone in the countryside of Fort Atkinson, just a little over an hour from Milwaukee. Although Wisconsin is full of barn wedding venues, Selmer and Stone offers that extra oomph with their modern design choices that give it a ‘chic barn’ feel with plenty of greenery and rolling hills.
Guest Capacity — Up to 175
Rate — $6,000 Saturdays / $5,000 Fridays & Sundays
12. Stout’s Island
Ever dream of getting married on a secluded island with you and all of your people in Wisconsin? Stout’s Island Resort is the location you’re looking for! It’s located on a secluded island in the middle of Red Cedar Lake, which is about 5 hours northwest of Milwaukee. This is another one of those venues that could almost be a mini vacation for you and your guests, while also getting to celebrate your marriage on a Wisconsin island! This is another dream location for me to photograph as a Wisconsin wedding photographer!
Guest Capacity — 35 to 175 / 40 for overnight guests
Rate — $15,000 – $19,000 but pricing varies per wedding
13. Camp Elsewhere
If you’re from Wisconsin then you definitely know of the popular Camp Wandawega venue in Elkhorn, however there’s a new glampground in Wisconsin! Camp Elsewhere is cozied up in Waupaca, just shy of 2 hours from Milwaukee. They have about 50 acres of private woodlands, a few cute beaches, and even a chapel that overlooks the lake. The property provides a variety of accommodations, including cozy cabins, renovated vintage Shasta trailers, and glamping tents, allowing up to 82 guests to stay on-site! I recently photographed a wedding here and have to vouch for how cozy and welcoming this campground is for a wedding, I can’t recommend it enough!
Guest Capacity — 82 overnight guests / 250 guests
Rate — Starts at $8,500 / click here for 2027 pricing guide
14. Camp Kettlewood
For those of you looking for an outdoor venue closer to the Wisconsin and Illinois border, there’s another campground wedding venue right in East Troy! Just shy of 2 hours from Chicago and about an hour from Madison, Camp Kettlewood was an old girl scout camp that has been updated with modern amenities without loosing the essence of camping, but with an added bonus, they are also a wedding venue! Couples get exclusive Friday-through-Sunday access, with a string-lit pavilion that seats up to 300 guests and 12 unique on-site campsites that range from vintage scout cabins, to safari tents, and retro trailers.
Guest Capacity — Sleeps 60 on-site (12 campsites) / Up to 300 guests
Rate — Contact for pricing guide
15. Private Island Estate
The last spot on my Wisconsin wedding venue list is a VRBO listing I found on a secluded island in La Pointe called the Island Estate! If you’re looking for a venue on a lake, can accommodate your guests (up to 40 overnight!), and want a cozy, intimate outdoor wedding, this is the perfect spot. I had previously reached out to the owner to see if they host weddings & he confirmed that they do! Truly such a dream to get married on a secluded island in Northern Wisconsin right on the lake.
Guest Capacity — 40 overnight guests / max 90 to attend
Rate — Starts at $11,000 but may vary
