Pastel & Playful Wedding Anniversary
August 26th, 2025
A few weeks ago, I got to meet back up with Meg & Jonny, whose wedding has gone down as one of my favorites I’ve ever been able to photograph (take a peek at it here!), and a few of their friends to celebrate their one year wedding anniversary! Currently in the middle of my busiest year yet, I was on the hunt to photograph something colorful, get creative, and honestly just have some fun and play around with my film cameras.
Meg & Jonny truly blew me out of the water with their set up in their backyard. Almost all of the bits of details and decor were actually from their wedding day last year and it was so sweet that they were able to be repurposed for another fun day! The pastel colored wall streamers, the umbrella, and Meg’s iconic pink bathtub got to make an appearance and it was so sweet to see it again.
The day of our little impromtu photo shoot/get together, it ended up being one of the most humid days in August with a storm that was rolling in in just a few hours, but we managed to have a sweet morning with some champagne, lots of great desserts & pastries (made by Jonny’s mom, who also made all of their wedding desserts too!), and breakfast foods.
As simple as they are and might even feel cheesy in the moment, some of my favorite photos to get are group photos. Candid and in the moment photos definitely have their time to shine, but capturing a specific moment in time with all your people is such a treasure to have. I always get too sappy and think about looking back at photos in 5, 10, 15+ years and think of how silly, sentimental, and sweet these photos will feel.
After a bit of eating cupcakes and cinnamon rolls, someone brought out a whole croquet set! It honestly kind of fit the vibe for the morning; it was fun being a spectator and getting to watch everyone play a real game of croquet (and some actually doing so well).
At the end of croquet, we heard some rumbles of thunder and it started to get a little dark, so we decided to do a final champagne pop and some cheers! The photo below is one of my favorite from our time together; so many genuine smiles, the champagne all throughout the air (and almost hitting my camera haha), the croquet mallets, all of it.
To know Meg and Jonny is such a treasure. They radiate so much love, compassion for their friends & families, and are just an all around beam of sunshine to be around. Feeling really thankful that this career leads me to meeting so many wonderful people.
To Meg & Jonny!
